Amenities in Nottingham... |

Nottingham has always had a reputation as a top city for shopping, but over the past year Nottingham really has gone up a notch in the retail stakes. Paul Smith has gone back to his roots and opened his flagship store here. And Hugo Boss and Kurt Geiger have followed suit, both opening branches in Nottingham.
For food and drink, from award-winning vegetarian fast food at V1 to Michelin-starred opulence at Sat Bains, Nottingham’s eateries are varied enough to cater for every taste or pocket. Try classic French dining at La Toque in Beeston, pan-Asian fusion in the most stylish surrounds at Geisha in the Lace Market, or follow in the footsteps of Charles I at the Saracen’s Head in Southwell. |

| Georgetown is reminiscent of its colonial namesake, now known as Penang in Malaysia. The Irony is, of course, that they hark back to the 18th and 19th centuries when the British Empire was still growing - Georgetown Restaurants are so-called because Britain's first settlement in Malaya in 1787, founded by Sir Francis Light, was given the name in honour of the then King, George III. |
